Love in Action
Master’s Blessings Brought
to Homeless Friends on Easter Eve
By Missouri News Group (Originally in English)
On April 8, Golden Year 4 (2007), initiates from Missouri Center once again had the honor to bring Master’s love and blessings to less fortunate people at the Victory Mission Homeless Shelter in Springfield. Over 60 homeless people enjoyed spaghetti noodles, soup and delicious eggless cakes. In addition, each received a bag of gifts filled with delectable goodies, including a fortune cookie with Master’s Aphorism, and a pamphlet of Master’s biography. The initiates had been worried about whether there were enough helpers to serve so many people. Thanks to Master’s arrangement, upon their arrival, they were happy to see four college girls who volunteered to help serve foods at the shelter. More surprisingly, that was the first night the shelter had so many college students coming to help; for three of them it was their first visit. One of the students was very curious about Master’s teaching and vegetarianism. After initiates introduced her to Supreme Master Television, she was interested in checking it out. After the dinner, one lady and her daughter asked an initiate whether thrift stores were still open because they felt very cold outside with the temperature around 32ºF (0℃) and wanted to find clothing. The initiate immediately took off her favorite scarf designed by Master. In addition, she ran back to the car and grabbed a hand-made blanket for them. Deeply touched by the initiate’s action, the lady wanted to give the initiate a hug but instead hesitated. The initiate observed her intent and hugged the lady instead. It was also God’s arrangement for initiates to bring that blanket even though there seemed no need for it. But somehow, initiates felt a strong urge to bring it just in case. We thank Master for the opportunity to serve our friends on this special occasion. In serving and bringing satisfaction to others, initiates felt fulfilled and happy.
Sharing Is Caring

On March 17, Golden Year 4 (2007), fellow practitioners from the Los Angeles Center visited Santa Ana Armory in Southern California and served 245 vegetarian meals to the local homeless people, who were fascinated by the taste of the delicious cuisine and surprised that the dishes contained no animal products. They were also very interested when they received the Alternative Living flyers reading them attentively. One said, “I love vegetarian foods. I can eat these foods without difficulty.” Another commented, “Thank you very much for providing the food tonight; otherwise, we’d just eat only white sandwiches with barbecue sauce and a couple of potatoes and meat. Your foods are delicious.” The managers of this shelter were also deeply grateful to The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association for providing them with a dinner that was well prepared and nutritious, and that did not involve harming other sentient beings.
