[Hawaii] On March 11, Golden Year 4 (2007), during the Honolulu Festival & Parade cultural event, held each year to celebrate cultural traditions and practices of Japan and other Asian Pacific countries, the Hawaii brothers and sisters worked together to hand out Alternative Living & Supreme Master Television flyers. Along with each flyer that was handed out, Master’s fortune cookie was also included. Many people were curious and eager to receive the flyers and gave warm thank you and smiles for the special treat, especially the kids.

There was a great mixture of different people from all walks of life and different ages watching the parade. It was a special opportunity to share Master’s message of peace with such a diverse gathering of people. Many people showed great interest in the Alternative Living flyers and read carefully about “Vegetarian Laureates and Scientists.” Some expressed their surprise that there are so many brilliant vegetarian elite around the world.

[Chicago] On March 24, Golden Year 4 (2007), initiates from the Illinois Center participated in the annual Family Farmed.Org Expo at Chicago’s prestigious Cultural Center to promote Supreme Master Television and share the Alternative Living message with the public. The focus of the Expo was to support family farming, organic and natural food choices, vegetarian/vegan healthy eating, as well as venues that contributed to saving the earth, addressing hunger in America, and utilizing natural resources in ways that protect the environment and not accelerate global warming.

Some of the displays included a Bed and Breakfast that uses solar and other energy efficient means. Another group showed people how to use their yards for growing vegetables and herbs rather than just a lawn. There was a community garden where everyone shared in the maintenance and benefits of the garden of organic fruits, vegetables and herbs. Many of the farm groups were promoting better care and humane treatment of animals. Also, there were educational and fun activities for children.

What pleased our brothers and sisters most was the percentage of people who were vegetarians, even vegan, and the number interested in becoming vegetarian. They were inquisitive about our display where the giant Alternative Living poster and the giant Supreme Master Television promotion poster radiated Master’s blessing. Most of the visitors happily took the variety of information we handed to them, including the Alternative Living flyer, the Supreme Master Television flyer, the flyer on the Quan Yin meditation, vegetarian recipes and list of vegetarian restaurants in the metropolitan Chicago area. Moreover, the visitors who stopped at our table were delighted by the free samples of vegan “un” beef jerky that were offered as well as vegetarian shish kabobs. Many expressed surprise at the tastiness of the various vegetarian meats. A cattle farmer stated the humor in his accepting the vegan food samples. Many visitors showed interest in vegetarianism, asking us where to purchase vegetarian food and how to start a vegetarian diet. Some also asked detailed questions about the Quan Yin Method of meditation and received the sample booklet and the Real Heroes DVD.

Master’s presence was strongly felt at this event, not only to bless our undertaking, but also to show us that there has been a significant elevation in consciousness and the acceptance of the Alternative Living lifestyle, and the realization that all people have the responsibility to care for this planet.
