From October to the beginning of November 2007, Central Âu Lạc continuously went through four floods and one typhoon. The water in all rivers in the central region exceeded the most dangerous level, far surpassing the “flood of the century” in 1999. To help with the relief work, Master and Her International Association had previously sent relief funds. (Please refer to News #190 for details.) And in mid-November, an additional fund of approximately US$20,000 was rendered.

Relief Work in Huế and Surrounding Area

Natural disaster continued wreaking havoc in Thừa Thiên province and Huế. All levels of government have been providing immediate relief to people in the affected areas in a timely manner. However due to the prolonged flooding, the local people still faced a great deal of hardship in their daily life. Thanks to Master's love and arrangement, fellow initiates in Huế managed to buy relief items such as rice, vegetarian noodles, blankets and medicine to help the people.

Despite many flood related difficulties and problems on the road, everything was carried out smoothly. In addition, the enthusiasm of fellow initiates and local governments created a very supportive condition to distribute the relief materials directly into the hands of victims. There was no rain during the entire duration of the relief work, thus avoiding the problem of the materials getting wet. Having felt Master's boundless love, many wept with tears of deep gratitude. And joy appeared on everyone's face.

Relief Work in Đà Nẵng and Quảng Nam

In Đà Nẵng, the continuous torrential rains submerged a number of villages in the surrounding areas. The local government evacuated people to safe places. Fellow initiates in Đà Nẵng prepared a thousand servings of sweet rice, boxed lunches and vegetarian noodles and together with fellow initiates from Quảng Nam distributed them, along with much needed water and other basic food supplies, to the evacuees. Several districts in Quảng Nam province also received aid. Although the gifts were small in quantity, the recipients were very touched upon receiving them as they movingly said, “This food indeed arrives just in time to help us overcome the most difficult time.” They send their deepest gratitude to Master for all that She has done for them.

Relief Work in Bình Định

One hundred gifts full of Master's love were distributed to the victims in Bình Định province and aid was also rendered to inhabitants of the mountainous village of Canh Hòa, Vân Canh district, which was swept away by the recent flood. Everyone was so appreciative of this timely help. While doing the relief work, the weather forecast said that a category 7 typhoon with winds of 120 km/hour would create land slides in the provinces between Bình Định and Khánh Hòa. We really could not do anything except pray to Master for help. Miraculously, when the typhoon came within 280 km of the shore, it just stopped and reversed its path toward the Eastern Sea then vanished - a rare sight to be seen! Once again, we could only thank the Most High for saving the people in Central Au Lac. Thank You Master for giving us this chance to bring some love to those in great need.
