Heavenly Smiles
By Kathmandu News Group (Originally in English)

“Guru Purnima” is a celebration in the Hindu tradition that falls on the full moon day in the month of Ashadh (July – August).  It’s the day Lord Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa was born and when spiritual masters are especially revered. This year, Guru Purnima fell on July 18 and fellow initiates from the Kathmandu Center took the opportunity to bring gifts to Jeewan Utthan, a non-governmental organization which supports orphans. The gifts included beds, mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, mosquito nets, blankets and clothes. Ms. B. Maya Tamang, the founder of the organization, expressed her wholehearted gratitude, saying that it was the first time that any national association and spiritual group has shown support on such a large scale. When Master’s sample booklets, Alternative Living and SOS-Climate Change flyers were given to them, some immediately showed great interest in Master and the Quan Yin Method of meditation.

There are 18 children aged 3 to 13 staying in the orphanage. Some of them have had extremely tough beginnings to life. Nevertheless, they were all very cheerful and even sang beautiful songs for the initiates and to thank Supreme Master Ching Hai. Furthermore, to the delight of the initiates, 11 of the 18 children there are vegetarian! Thank You, Master, for Your immense, loving blessings that are really changing the world in positive ways and for the chance to share this love with those who are truly in need.

Thank you letter from Jeewan Utthan
