The World Peace Diet ― Dr. Will Tuttle, Ph.D.

Eating animal foods is a fundamental cause of our dilemmas ... It is our defining blind spot and is the essential missing piece to the puzzle of human peace and freedom.” ― Dr. Will Tuttle

By Sister Mistie Gotch, Ohio, USA (Originally in English)

Author Will Tuttle was born in the historical city of Concord, Massachusetts, which has been home to some of America’s greatest political and literary revolutions. Perhaps growing up in the same natural setting as 19th-century American transcendentalist writers and fellow vegetarians ―Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau and Louisa May Alcott―inspired Dr. Will Tuttle to continue in their footsteps by writing his groundbreaking book entitled: The World Peace Diet – Eating For Spiritual Health and Social Harmony. It has been called “one of the most important books of the 21st century and the foundation of a new society based on the truth of the interconnectedness of all life.” Inside, Dr. Tuttle shares with us the ancient roots of our current food trends and the unfortunate results of those trends. Along the way, he guides and teaches the reader so they can choose to continue or change these current dietary trends of society. With so much discussion about “fad diets” these days, Will Tuttle has transcended the norm and written about something much more important than slim bodies and outwardly looks; he has written a provocative and well-researched book about a diet that can bring peace within us, society and the animals.

Dr. Will Tuttle is an award-winning speaker, educator, author and musician. As early as 2004, he was warning us of the dangers of cattle raising and the contribution of methane gas to global warming. He has a master’s degree in humanities from San Francisco State University and a Ph.D. in education from the University of California, Berkeley.

The World Peace Diet was a recipient of the Peace Abbey Courage of Conscience Award and has also received very positive feedback from notable personages such as: John Robbins, acclaimed author of the book Diet For A New America; His Holiness the Dalai Lama; Reverend Robert J. Brumet, from the Unity School of Christianity; and Howard Lyman, renowned author of No More Bull! and Mad Cowboy, just to mention a few. All have highly praised this exceptional publication for its informative content and benefit to our world.

This book crosses all boundaries and is an amazing resource for new and long-time vegetarians/vegans, as well as environmental, spiritual, religious and animal advocates. It contains an abundance of facts as well as much-needed explanations as to how our culture has come to have such a disconnection between the way we live our life and the food that we eat on a daily basis. Through detailed writing, the author meticulously provides the reader with the origin of our meat-eating habits and the far-reaching negative effects thereof, exploring ideologies and history dating back thousands of years. You will be shaken yet fascinated by the author’s revealing discoveries.

The World Peace Diet opens by revealing the act of eating as a relationship to the sacred and divine. It then helps us examine our ancient cultural roots and the process of denial we eventually inherited with our food choices. The chapter entitled “The Intelligence of Human Physiology” takes us inside of our own bodies to see the evidence and clues of our true nature as vegetarians/vegans.

Subsequent chapters detail the seemingly endless suffering we have inflicted upon all life on our planet by using them as commodities and even unnecessarily eating them. “There are amazing unrecognized social, psychological and spiritual consequences to our meals that ripple through all aspects of our lives,” the book explains. Dr. Tuttle sincerely writes about the truth as we can witness in chapter seven, entitled, “The Domination of the Feminine.” He painfully states: “Female cows and chickens are ruthlessly dominated to provide products that are vital and healthy for their offspring, community and species but cause disease, pollution, hunger and suffering when consumed by humans.” But he also offers the reader hope and empowerment in the same chapter: “When we make the connection between our culturally induced desire to eat dairy and egg products and the cruelty to vulnerable mothers that this will necessarily entail, our intelligence and compassion are nourished and we naturally begin to make new choices.”

After clearing up questions and objections about the plant-based diet, Dr. Tuttle brings the reader to a place of spiritual introspection in chapters titled: “Evolve or Dissolve” and “The Journey of Transformation,” in which the reader is asked: “How can we best contribute to our culture’s awakening and evolution to a greater intelligence, compassion, peace and fulfillment?” Truly, this book examines fully and wholeheartedly the vegan diet and its abundant positive attributes as well as brings to our attention the age-old principle of life often referred to as The Golden Rule: Do unto others as we would have them do unto us.

The readers of The World Peace Diet will truly be inspired by this book as it will allow individuals to make the transition into a vegan lifestyle with research, facts and history to support them. We thank Dr. Will Tuttle for this wonderful opportunity to know our past so we can join together in this new trend, this new revolution, the revolution of a peaceful diet.
