Master’s Love and Compassion Extends
to Cape Town Storm Victims
By Cape Town News Group (Originally in English)

The Western Cape experienced its worst storm in seven years over the weekend of August 30 to 31, 2008. Heavy rains, fierce winds, horrid hailstorms and massive swells raged over these two days. The worst-hit areas were informal settlements on the Cape Flats, 30 minutes outside the city center of Cape Town. Due to an already high water table and limited run-off capacity in these areas, several homes were flooded with 3,500 people affected. Five NGOs, working in conjunction with the City of Cape Town Municipality, assisted in pumping these areas dry and supplying people with food and blankets.

Upon learning about this situation, our most compassionate Master immediately sent US$5,000 in relief aid to these storm victims. Fellow initiates from the local center set out in earnest to bring relief aid to the Masiphumelele victims in Noordhoek, Heinz Park and Brown’s Farm in Philippi. Loving food parcels, toiletries, blankets, envelopes containing money, sample booklets and SOS flyers were distributed. After receiving Master’s love and concern, they immediately burst into spontaneous song and dance to give thanks and praise to God for taking care of them. They were most grateful to Master for Her love and assistance during these hard times. Exclamations like “this is one caring lady” to “this is one very special lady who thinks of us who are so far away” were heard and they also wanted to know more about Master.  One lady said that while she was preparing supper the previous night, she thanked God for always providing food for her. Little did she know that she would be receiving a special food parcel from Master the following day.

Fellow initiates felt extremely uplifted by this humbling experience and were happy to serve humankind, knowing that Master’s loving presence and blessings were ever present for those most in need.
