Love in Action

Master has always been extremely concerned about disasters that occur worldwide. Whenever receiving news about disasters anywhere, She immediately renders relief by providing financial assistance as well as dispatching rescue teams to help in the affected areas. Through such relief efforts, we are also conveying Master’s love to the disaster victims. It is evident that Master’s unconditional love, silent blessing and help have reduced worldwide disasters and their effects to a minimum.

In recognition of the selfless actions of all governments, organizations and relief workers from every corner of the world, Master would like to convey this message of gratitude:

“Thank you, all the international help that brings care and necessities to afflicted victims. Thank you all the relief workers for taking time and forsaking your own comfort, even traveling great distance on unfavorable roads and conditions to bring love and assistance to people in a time of need. May Heaven bless you abundantly for your generosity and noble sacrifice.”

Special Gifts to the Flood Victims
By Poland News Group (Originally in Polish)

In response to the Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko’s announcement of the state of disaster in Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernihiv, Supreme Master Ching Hai contributed US$20,000 for disaster relief and a team of initiates from Poland went to Ukraine to help the victims from August 8 to 12.

The Anti-Crisis Coalition in Ivano-Frankivsk informed the relief team members that the most severely damaged area was Tlumach District, where the waters reached 10 meters high in some areas and completely destroyed many houses. Thus, they immediately left for Tlumach and met with Governor Vasil Seniv, who indicated that the three poorest villages―Pietrilov, Zabycie and Repniki―were in greater need. He kindly assigned the vice-governor and two social workers who knew all the villagers by name to assist with the relief work. They were a tremendous help with everything that needed to be done. In addition, the governor arranged a school bus and a big van as free transportation for the initiates, to which they attached a big banner with Master’s photo and the words: “Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association Relief Team.”

Together they visited the flooded areas and talked to the people living in the affected villages. They were pleased to find that all the victims had already received basic help like hygienic products, flour and barley from the government, as well as some gifts such as sleeping bags from international organizations. So they decided to give them something special that would really make them happy. To each household in the two most severely damaged villages, they gave a good duvet, and to the seven poorest families, they gave them each a mattress. Since these areas are very frequently flooded by the Dniester River, a pontoon with a motor was also contributed. In addition, items like buckwheat, rice, sugar, oil, water, coffee and tea were distributed together with Master’s SOS global warming fliers to all the villagers. Some showed interest in the flyer content. Many were touched to tears upon receiving the much-needed help and sincerely thanked Supreme Master Ching Hai.
