[Nagano] On September 6, Golden Year 5 (2008), fellow initiates from our Gunma Center held a SOS Global Warming Seminar at Ecole Miyota, a multi-purpose community center in Miyota, Nagano Prefecture. Short films were shown on global warming and related issues such as the livestock industry, the environment, and food and water shortages. Three keynote speakers were invited to discuss the vegetarian diet from different perspectives including its nutritional value and benefits as well as how it can have a constructive impact on stopping climate change. The response was warm and positive, as the participants showed great concern and asked several questions. They were also highly impressed with the delicious treat of veggie burgers.

Fellow initiates in Gunma are very grateful for Master’s guidance and will continue to work hard to protect this planet with practical actions.
