Kirundi is a Bantu language spoken by some five million people in Burundi, Tanzania, Congo (Kinshasa) and Uganda. Closely

related to each other, Kirundi and Kinyarwanda are mutually intelligible.

As the official language of Burundi, Kirundi is used by three ethnic groups, mainly the Hutu, but also by the Tutsi and the Twa.
