[Sancheong] In early May of Golden Year 4 (2007), “Sancheong Traditional Oriental Medical Plant Festival” and “Royal Azalea Blossom” took place in Sancheong and its neighboring city and attracted many visitors from the whole nation. On May 10, Busan fellow Initiates were delighted to take this opportunity to hold a video seminar to introduce Master's teachings and also prepared vegetarian meals for the audience at the Culture Art Hall in Sancheong. A group of tourists also visited the hall. Apart from enjoying the vegetarian food provided, they took Master's sample booklets and gifts, which they shared with each other on the bus. They looked very happy, like children, and took pictures as a memory. Our fellow initiates also presented them with Master's DVD lecture, so that they may watch on the bus on the way back.
Lightening Our Inner Lantern

[Seoul] From May 14 to 16, fellow initiates from Seoul Center participated in the SNU (Seoul National University) school festival. They played Supreme Master Television programs on a large TV and distributed many thousand flyers of Alternative Living and Supreme Master Television. It attracted great attention from the elite students and guests of the festival, including foreign students. SNU students have had a vegetarian club since Golden Year 1 (2004). Currently, the school campus is providing vegetarian meals for the students under the earnest request of the vegetarian club.
On May 20, Golden Year 4 (2007), “Lotus Lantern Festival” was held to celebrate the birthday of Buddha in the downtown area of Seoul City. Numerous unique booths related to Buddhism and other religions were set up at the venue. In the evening, a wonderful parade of more than 100,000 lotus lanterns was carried out. The Lotus lantern represents giving light to darkness and enlightenment to ignorance. The fellow initiates from Seoul Center set up a booth in a very good location of the venue. Many people were happy to find out about the delicious soy-meat products that we offered and lined up eagerly to try the taste. A lot of guests seemed receptive to vegetarianism as most Buddhists already understood the karmic result of eating meat. It was also encouraging to know many tourists from foreign countries were already vegetarian.
Two-day Retreat and Sports Event [Youngdong] On May 5 and 6, Golden Year 4 (2007), Korean fellow initiates had a 2-day retreat and a sports event. Group meditation was held in the Youngdong Center and in the evening of the first night, there were delightful camp fires with adults and children enjoying the occasion together. The next day, children received books as gifts for Children's Day, and then all initiates moved to a nearby elementary school to take part in a joyful sports event.
