Hsinchu

On December 20 in the cold winter, the Hsinchu Center contributed DVD players, kitchenware and spiritual publications, including Las Aves en Mi Vida, y Los Perros en Mi Vida,, to the Hsinchu Shelter for Homeless Friends. They hoped that their street friends in Hsinchu would have a merry Christmas and happy new year.

Ten thousand NT dollars (about US$350) was also contributed to Emei Elementary School for the needy students, so that they could continue with their studies with dignity and without worry. Principal Xu Fa-bin accepted the contribution on December 26, expressing how deeply touched he was at the love and concern of The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association in noticing a school in a remote location and in great need of resources.

Taichung

Fellow initiates from the Taichung Center also celebrated the Christmas season by putting love in action. They shared Master’s love and blessings with the physically and mentally challenged children of the Maria Wufeng Home, and the abandoned babies and abused children sheltered at the Taichung Infants Nursery.

On December 20, they visited and contributed a number of items to the Maria Wufeng Home. These included a jumbo-size washing machine to handle the large volume of cloth diapers each day, as well as a karaoke system and a television set so as to bring some happiness and enjoyment into the lives of these beautiful children. The following day, they visited the Taichung Infants Nursery to express their greatest respect to the staff for their selfless and silent dedication. They also provided the Nursery with an urgently needed drinking machine and two LCD computer monitors.

Nantou

Fellow initiates from the Nantou Center shared God’s love with the little angels of Ren-ai Home and the aging saints of the Elderly Home before Christmas. Following a heart-warming Christmas tradition, they asked the little angels to write down what they wanted for Christmas and then purchased the gifts accordingly. Surprise presents were also prepared for each of them, depending on their age and gender. The children were overjoyed to receive the exquisite and beautifully wrapped gifts.

To the Elderly Home, 108 sets of needed beddings were contributed, together with Master’s new book — The Birds in My Life, hoping to share their love for the animals with these senior sages.

Changhua

Under the leadership of Pastor Hong Chun-yi, the Christian Xinbao Church Social Concern Association in a remote coastal area of Changhua County has taken care of more than a hundred children from unfortunate families over the past two decades. It is now home to 40 kids. On Christmas Eve, fellow initiates from Changhua shared a joyous celebration with these underprivileged children. They also brought a lot of gifts, which included freshly picked oranges, self-grown organic brown rice, self-made toys, candies, cookies, Master’s sample books, News magazines and a fund of about NT$10,000, all fully charged with God’s love.

Pingtung

As Christmas and the new year drew near, fellow initiates from the Laiyi Center shared Master’s love and concern with the local community. They prepared a lot of Christmas gifts and, with fellow initiates dressed up as angels, visited each local household with Ms. Gao Ai-zhu, a counselor from the Yilin Village Church. They had a joyous Christmas Eve celebration with the villagers outside the church. Next day, Ms. Gao and the local Tribal Chief arranged for a Supreme Master Television poster to be put up on the village bulletin board. Master’s new books were also contributed to eight local churches. In addition that afternoon, they delivered clothes and daily necessities contributed by fellow initiates to the local clothes donation association for distribution to needy families by volunteer workers.

Keelung

On January 11, Golden Year 5 (2008), the Keelung Center conveyed Master’s love and warm concern for the street friends in the cold winter with a contribution of 20 sleeping bags, News magazines and red envelopes containing a total of NT$20,000 to a homeless shelter run by the Ren-an Charity Foundation. The homeless shelters in Keelung have for a long time provided the street friends with a wide range of service, such as food, clothing, bathing facilities, emergency aid and assistance in seeking medical treatment and employment.

Yilan

On January 20, the Yilan Center, in cooperation with the Lotung Renan Branch of the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation, treated the street friends to a vegetarian year-end dinner. More than a hundred street friends came to the event, which began with showing Master’s DVD, followed by a musical recital of Master’s poems. While the street friends were enjoying the dinner, fellow initiates continued to entertain them with interesting performances. Everyone was immersed in the joyous atmosphere. After the dinner, some warm scarves and candies were presented to them as gifts, and all were wished a happy and successful new year.

Kaohsiung

In the remote mountain areas of Kaoshiung County, some destitute aboriginal students were unable to pay for their lunch fees, and thus didn’t dare to go to school. Knowing about this unfortunate situation, the Kaohsiung Center contributed a fund of NT$200,000 to the Physical and Health Education Division of the Kaohsiung County Education Department to subsidize these students, hoping they would be able to study in school without any worries. At the same time, Master’s new books were also given to the Education Department. Apart from expressing gratitude to our Association, Director Lu Rui-feng and Section Chief Yu Shu-hui also talked about their endeavors in helping these children of God. They hoped that these kids, after receiving the assistance to continue their education, would keep this sense of gratitude in their hearts and pass on this love to other needy people in the future.
