The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association in Formosa sent support to the victims of the landslide in Ginsaugon, Southern Leyte, last February 17th.
Former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chairman Manoling Morato stated that representatives of the Association contacted him for an update on the disaster that shocked the whole world.
He said that the Association immediately sent support, experts and relief workers with Chairman Morato assisting them to reach the area of calamity.
The volunteers from the Association were among the first to arrive and the last to leave in the said landslide. They distributed rice, sugar, milk, salt and household utensils for the direct use of the victims.
In the past, Supreme Master Ching Hai helped the victims when Mt. Pinatubo erupted years ago. The spiritual leader also helped the Filipinos afflicted by floods and other calamities same as the victims of Tsunami in Indonesia, Thailand and India. The Association also did charitable works in Pakistan for the suffering after its killer quake.
“We should recognize the extraordinary concern to the Filipinos by the Supreme Master Ching Hai whose humanitarian work around the world has touched millions of lives,” Morato said in a press statement.
