Timely Relief for Australian Flood Victims
By New South Wales News Group (Originally in English)
Recently
Coffs Harbour and its neighbouring towns along the mid-north coast
of New South Wales had been under siege from heavy flooding. With
Master’s merciful grace, initiates from New South Wales formed
a relief team and arrived in Coffs Harbour on April 6, 2009, to
assess the flood situation.
They met with a State Emergency Service worker, who kindly told them the worst flood-affected areas were Bellingen, Urunga, Newry Island and Coffs Harbour. One of the places the team first visited was Marina Crescent, which had been drenched twice in six weeks, with floodwaters reaching 1 meter high. Though no injuries or fatalities were reported, many homes were left empty, carpeting and furnishings were scattered along the roadside, and gardens and garages were covered with mud. Many vehicles had flood damage.
Many of the flood-stricken residents were happy to receive the comfort
items and were sincerely grateful for Master’s loving assistance.
