Later, due to Her concern about the structure of School Number
12, which She heard was at risk of collapsing, Master offered an
additional US$50,000 to repair the buildings and upgrade the facilities
in the kitchen, dining room, laundry room and children’s room.
The contribution, along with 250 items of clothing, was brought
to the school on May 2, 2009. Ms. Guldona, the director of School
Number 12, asked to display Master’s picture at the orphanage
and invited Master to visit Tajikstan one day. In addition, the
Director of the Tajikistan Performing Arts School presented a beautiful,
traditional Tajikistani dress as a sign of appreciation for the
work of Supreme Master Ching Hai and Her Association members.

Providing Aid for Flood and Mudslide Victims
In May 2009, floods and mudslides in Tajikistan displaced over 15,000 people and disrupted agriculture, power supply and transport. Deeply concerned about the crisis, Supreme Master Ching Hai contributed US$10,000 in aid, and our relief team from South Korea travelled to Dushanbe, where two families had lost all of their properties to a powerful mudslide. A cash fund of US$700 was presented to both families. Upon reaching the most heavily affected Khuroson district in Khatlon province, the team distributed US$9,000 to 340 families for the purchase of daily necessities such as flour and clothing. About US$300 was provided to the soldiers to ease their conditions. The recipients expressed enormous gratitude to Master Ching Hai for Her generous, loving gifts.
We thank all parties involved in the relief work and pray
that the people can swiftly resume normal, productive lives and
that Earth will soon be free of such calamities as we all unite
to restore its stability.
