Master Helps Flood Victims through
the Iraqi Red Crescent Society
By Australia News Group (Originally in English)
On November 1, 2009, torrential rains caused flooding
and landslides in Iraqi Kurdistan’s Erbil Province, burying
many homes and claiming the lives of four people. During the storms,
the Erb River overflowed inundating the surrounding areas and causing
residents to be evacuated.
On November 4, in response to the dire need of the victims,
Supreme Master Ching Hai compassionately contributed US$10,000 to
the Iraqi Red Crescent Society whose officials expressed their gratitude
in a formal letter of thanks.
We deeply appreciate the work of the Red Crescent Society
and other relief organizations that help people in disaster areas
around the world. We pray that humankind will soon live in harmony
with nature by adopting the lifesaving vegan diet and by extending
their love and support to our animal co-inhabitants.
