  Timely Aid for Flood Victims

By fellow initiates from China (Originally in Chinese)

In March and April 2011, many places in Angola were flooded
due to nonstop, heavy rain. Complying with Master’s instructions,
a group of our Association members from China promptly contacted
the Angola National Rescue Center and were informed that Benguela
Province was the most heavily stricken region and was in desperate
              need of help.

Our relief team arrived in Benguela on May 20 and, accompanied by the Commander of the National Rescue Center, went to the affected areas to assess the situation. Floods from rising rivers had washed away the crops and food was in extremely short supply.

On May 21, using the US$10,000 in relief funds provided
by Master, the team purchased 477 bags of rice. Upon learning about
their work, a Chinese company in Angola offered a truck for the
relief team’s use free of charge. Escorted by Mr. Jose, the
rice, along with 3,000 SOS flyers, were delivered to five accommodation
centers, where people cheered with joy upon seeing the truckload
of urgently needed rice. As the team members left, the people waved
farewell and repeatedly expressed their gratitude.
