Takoj, ko je Mojstrica izvedela, za težavno situacijo v Nikaragvi, katero je povzročil hurikan Felix v začetku septembra, je Ona takoj poslala reševalne skupine kot tudi US$20.000 kot pomoč žrtvam najbolj prizadetih območij. Skupna pomoč je znašala $23.405,80.

When Master noticed the emergency situation had occurred in Nicaragua as a result of Hurricane Felix in early September, She immediately sent a disaster relief team of three brother initiates from USA and three sister initiates from Costa Rica, as well as US$20,000 to help the victims in the most affected regions. The areas visited by the team included Huakwil, Boom Sirpi, Sisin, Kamla, Santa Marta and Tuapi from the Village of Puerto Cabezas.

At the airport, we met an “angel” sent by God, Mr. Cesar Nelly. He could speak Spanish, English and also Misquito which is the mother language of that area and agreed to be our guide and translator. After finding out the most urgent necessities through a thorough investigation, we began to visit different businesses to find the best prices. However, due to the bad road conditions, many stores had run out of the foods we wanted to buy. Nevertheless we maintained our faith in God, kept searching, and finally found a place that had everything we needed. The store owner was incredibly generous and cooperative. Not only did he agree to give us the supplies before receiving the payment the next day, he also allowed us to pack the relief items at his warehouse. In addition, he found lodging for us because he happened to own a hotel as well. We were deeply touched and amazed by God’s seamless arrangement. The weather was also on our side, as the heavy rain would stop whenever we set out to do the relief work and would resume after we came back.

The local people’s faces brightened when they saw us. Despite their desperate condition, they smiled to express their love and appreciation. We also gave candies and cookies to the children and it was comforting to see the anxiety on their faces replaced by happiness. Even the dogs in the community lined up to greet us and they were given cookies as well.

All the team members felt blessed to have had the opportunity to work as instruments of God in this noble mission and to have been able to bring Hiers love to these people in need.
