En respuesta a las severas inundaciones en Colombia, la Maestra Suprema Ching Hai inmediatamente asignó US$20.000 para la distribución de alimentos en las comunidades más afectadas. Llevando el amor de la Maestra, el 16 de julio miembros del equipo de rescate de Costa Rica y Colombia se reunieron en Bogotá para iniciar las labores de ayuda.

In response to the severe floods in Colombia, Supreme Master Ching Hai immediately allocated US$20,000 for food to be distributed to the most affected communities. Bringing Master’s love, on July 16 our relief team members from Costa Rica and Colombia gathered in Bogotá to initiate the relief effort.

The following day, they flew to Cartagena and traveled by bus to Magangue, where they purchased foods such as rice, beans, lentils, cooking oil, coffee, sugar, pasta and flour for the flood victims.

Mrs. Mercado, the Mayor of Sucre (one of the affected villages), was seeking help for the families in need. Therefore, the initiates traveled by boat to deliver emergency supplies to four communities: Isla del Coco, Montería, Malambo and Hato Nuevo, with the assistance of the local people. It was a dangerous journey, especially during the trip to Sucre, as the team got lost for hours due to heavy rain and gale-force winds. However, with Master’s blessing, they were able to reach all of the communities.

On Isla del Coco, the people were so happy to receive the food supplies, since the whole island had been flooded and they had lost all their crops. The aid from the relief team was the very first that they had received. All the victims were extremely grateful to God for having heard their prayers for help and to Master for sending them the timely supplies. They said things like: “I pray that God will grace Her with long life so She can keep helping people in need like She is helping us … How could She know that we needed all this help and decided to send you here with all the supplies? It is truly amazing and God will give Supreme Master Ching Hai a hundred times more than what She has given to our community.”

Through Master’s infinite guidance, the relief team was able to overcome every challenge and successfully deliver all of the aid quickly and safely to the affected families. They would like to send their most heartfelt gratitude to Master for Her infinite blessings, guidance, love and protection.
