God’s Love Shines on
Flood Victims in Bangladesh
By Formosa Relief Team (Originally in Chinese)

In mid-September 2008, Bangladesh was stricken by torrential rainfall, which combined with rising sea levels, caused severe floods in the Barisal region in the south. Upon receiving the concern from Master, the Formosan relief team promptly responded and went to the disaster area to render relief. The team contacted the local NGO Forum for Drinking Water Supply & Sanitation, and after assessing the situation, decided to provide urgently needed help to the two remote districts of Faridpur and Manikganj.

In Faridpur, approximately 2,000 rural households needed material supplies. Our relief team promptly purchased food and salt as well as milk powder for the children and old folks to help them through this most difficult time. In the delta district of Manikganj were four villages that were virtually isolated due to difficult access. For those 2,000 households, the team purchased rice, salt, milk powder and matches. Joining them in the relief efforts, the members of the NGO Forum for Drinking Water Supply & Sanitation mentioned how impressed and touched they were by Master’s immense love and compassion that transcend ethnic differences.

The SOS Save the Planet and Alternative Living flyers were also distributed, sharing the idea of saving the Earth through the vegetarian diet. With translation by the village chiefs, the rural communities knew that Master was very concerned about their safety and greatly sympathized with them. With sincere smiles and the flyers in their hands, the chiefs and the villagers expressed their appreciation to Master for Her love and grace.

All relief team members are very grateful for the opportunity to act as God’s tools in bringing Hiers love to the people, thus providing both material aid and spiritual comfort to those caught in this adverse situation. They sincerely hope that those affected by this disaster will be able to resume their normal life very soon.
