Master's Infinitely changing Picture
Just being initiated a short while ago and having had no achievements in my spiritual practice, I did not want to be bothered by anyone and requested that my family members not causally enter my bedroom. But, my little brother, who was full of curiosity about my spiritual practice, often snuck into my bedroom to sleep while I was out working. Therefore, he unexpectedly had many wonderful spiritual experiences.
Without knowing about this, I used to tell him, "Don't go into my room unnecessarily! Also, don't peek into my books! I'll let you read these books when the time comes."
One day, he finally could not hide his happiness anymore and told me, "Brother, I saw Master's picture in your room change. One moment the picture showed a person with a long white beard, and the next moment the head became shaved. It could even change into Buddha's portrait. How can this be?"
I was very puzzled. Why could my non-initiated little brother see these supernatural phenomena, and I, an initiate, never had such a wonderful experience?
Several days later, my little brother, his face glowing with happiness, told me again, "Recently, your Master has appeared in my dreams every night. She takes me to heaven to play. Now, as soon as I close my eyes, red rings of light appear in the area of my wisdom eye. Do you think I should try to be a vegetarian?"
With Master's love and blessings, he often eats vegetarian meals with me. He even has given up smoking which he liked so much. Now, just waiting for the right time, he will also follow Master to begin spiritual practice.
Master's Miracle Sample Booklet
Because I could not go to Formosa to attend the 4-Day Retreat at Hsihu Center during the Lunar New Year, I decided to have a meditation retreat at home. As I was enjoying my wonderful inner world of light and sound, I was pulled back to the physical world by the sound of someone pounding on my door, "Thud! Thud!" My sister, usually gentle and refined, uncharacteristically asked me, "Why are you on a vegetarian diet, and why are you not with the family members for the Lunar New Year?" She kept harassing me about this.
At first, I thought that a spiritual practitioner should not be angered easily. So, I tried to be tolerant. Because she continued to harass me, I finally replied, "I get a headache and feel nauseous when I see a table full of cooked poultry, fish and meat. Why do you force me to suffer? If you really respect me, you should not interfere with my own choice."

Several days later, my sister suddenly returned. After entering my house, she said gleefully, "I am going to tell you something that will make you very happy."
Because I still minded what she had said and done to me earlier, I asked her with a long face, "Happy about what?"
She then said that after she had quarreled with me and gone back home, she did not know why she could not sleep no matter how hard she tried. Therefore, she attempted to meditate like me, by sitting crossed-legged. Unexpectedly, she saw a spinning golden circle of light appear at her wisdom eye. There was a tiny being, the size of a thumb, in the center of the circle. Thinking that she was dreaming, she immediately awakened her husband and asked him if he saw anything. But her husband thought that she was talking in her sleep, so he ignored her and went back to sleep. My sister could not believe that she was dreaming, so she closed her eyes again to see what would happen. The little golden figure appeared again.
The next day, my sister inquisitively took out Master's sample booklet which I had given to her earlier, and started to read it. While she was concentrating on reading the booklet, a colleague of hers who had been practicing Chi-Kung and had psychic power, passed by and immediately felt an incredible power emanating from the sample booklet. She immediately said to my sister, "The master on the cover of this book must be a master of a very high level. Her power is unimaginably strong." Then, she spontaneously asked my sister if she could have a copy of Master's sample booklet. Not until that time did my sister fully realize that Master is indeed a living Buddha!
Many thanks to You, Master, for Your meticulous concern! You not only take care of me, an initiated disciple, but also my family members whom I had ignored. Master, You do this so that I can practice without worrying.
