Help from God for Earthquake Victims By Democratic Republic of the Congo News Group (Originally in English)
The initiates first flew from the Congo’s capital city of Kinshasa to Goma, and then went by boat to Bukavu where relief supplies of food and medicine had arrived and restoration work was already underway. In the mountainous village of Kabaré, the initiates found that the local parish church, which also served as a school, had been severely damaged in the quake, so the farmers were concerned that the priests had no place to live and their children’s education was being interrupted. The relief team immediately purchased 25 tents to serve as makeshift living quarters and classrooms, as well as cement and sand to repair the church. Thus, through Master’s blessings, all the difficulties were resolved with help from the farmers.
In addition, on receiving sample booklets, Supreme Master TV information and Alternative Living flyers, the local residents were touched by Master’s love, and one of the priests remarked, “We believe in this action. It’s what we have been praying for.” Another said, “This is help from God,” and later pledged to start following a vegetarian diet. He also wrote a letter of appreciation to Master. The initiates then left Kabaré with the happy realization that Master had once again enlightened people’s hearts and souls through Her blessings in a time of need.
The initiates arrived in the western province of Ruzizi, where houses and schools on the island of Nkombo had been seriously damaged in the earthquake. After checking with the local people, they learned that some international non-profit associations and the government had given them food, medicine, blankets and tents, which were used as temporary classrooms for students, some of whom were still studying outside under the trees. But the people still needed cement to build stronger classrooms and houses to replace their previous mud structures. So the initiates went to a nearby town to load two trucks with ten tons of cement. They also had a chance to meet with the town’s mayor. After being introduced to our Association and Master, the mayor was deeply impressed that although the initiates were from the Congo, they had come all the way to Rwanda to offer help. She asked why there was no center in Rwanda and the initiates replied, “If you are sincere and truly want it, it will happen.” Then before leaving the area, the initiates shared sample booklets and Supreme Master TV and AL flyers with the local people.
