Take Control Of Your Allergies  ●

The outdoors beckons, but your itchy eyes and stuffy nose won't let you leave your living room. Fortunately, there are simple ways to brave even the worst allergens of the summer —grass and ragweed, says Ira Finegold, M.D., president of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Breathe through your nose. The hairs inside are a natural air filter. Know when pollen counts are high.tay inside between six A.M. and eight A.M. if you have grass or ragweed allergies. Wear sunglasses (particularly those with side panels) whenever you’re outside to keep particles from irritating eyes.

Give pollen the brush-off. Pollen clings to clothing and hair, so change and shower after spending time outdoors.

Medicate. If your allergies interfere with daily life and over-the-counter remedies aren’t effective, see an allergist for treatment, which may include shots. A new, better way to treat and prevent allergies may be just around the corner: Scientists have tested a drug that may combat hay fever—with fewer side effects than current remedies. The drug destroys a component of the immune system that’s overactive in people with allergies.

Clean air-conditioners twice a month. Here are anti-mite air-conditioners. (airborne termites)

Cover nose with cloth or anti-pollution mask in polluted areas.

Difficult breathing: covering nose with a wet cloth will help.

Wash hands after coming home from outside.

Grow as many trees as possible, in particular the Athyrium pectintum --a herb-- around your house or environment. (Athyrium pectintum)
