The Musical
The
Pure Blue

When I sat down at the Shrine Auditorium to begin watching Loving the Silent Tears, I felt as if I was being enveloped in a sea of radiance. During the prelude, the stage filled with splendid, blue light and white angels descended from the crystal clear “sky,” immediately bringing the audience into the divine world. Meanwhile, the song “I Will Forever Love You” resounded gracefully through the loving, peaceful Heaven and penetrated the hearts of the audience members. In the later scenes, the blue light appeared again and again, wordlessly highlighting the theme of the spiritual journey, since blue is the color of the sky and sea and a symbol of profound peace and harmony. Experiencing Loving the Silent Tears was a kind of baptism for my soul! I came to realize that even though the world is divided into different continents and nations, and people’s appearances and cultural backgrounds vary, we all come from the same source and are all children of God. Moreover, although the external world is colorful and fascinating, a wisp of quietly elegant blue is always present in our hearts, constantly reminding us of a dormant, archetypal memory, and calling us back to our real Home. I wish that more and more people will follow in the footsteps of Supreme Master Ching Hai and walk together with us on the blue, spiritual journey to find the light of the perfect Self.
